"Our willingness to accept scientific claims that are against common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between science and the supernatural. We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its ...
The American Association for the Advancement of Science describes micro and macro evolution this way: Microevolution is the small-scale, easily observable change over time that occurs within a species. An example of this is the variety of dog breeds that have descended from a common canine ancestor....
Definitions are so very important to this discussion because meaningful discourse really depends on proper definitions in order to stay focused. Too often, debaters with anonymous handles on web forums are quite incapable of having a simple back and forth exchange of ideas because they never start...

Time Capsule - 1859

"If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down." Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species
Blog Picks
Today's blog spotlight is upon Michael Behe's fine Amazon Blog where he does an excellent job of responding in detail to his numerous critics. Michael Behe knows his evolution, and this blog provides an excellent resource for those who wish to stay on top of his current debate with Ken Miller and others.
Did you Know?
Did you know that Charles Darwin's Cambridge degree was in theology? Most people on the street have no idea what Darwin actually studied in school, but now you know.
Judge Jones - Copy/Paste Ruling?
In Kitzmiller v. Dover, Judge John E Jones was said to have written a ruling that was a "masterpiece of wit, scholarship and clear thinking." But recent research and disclosure indicates that Judge Jones may have merely copied and pasted his masterpiece from the arguments of the plaintiffs (ACLU). Read Here and judge for yourself.
Abiogenesis, Anyone?
Despite numerous lab experiments (such as Miller-Urey) over several decades, the biomacromolecules necessary to form proteins and DNA continue to elude scientists. Not only are there many conflicting theories for how life may have "self-organized," but not a single theory exists that can provide a coherent account of how prebiotic elements combined to produce life. As William Dembski writes in the Design Of Life, p. 243: "A complete set of building materials for a house does not account for a house..."
Great Books
The Edge of Evolution by Michael Behe The malaria virus is probably not the first thing that comes to mind for the lay person pondering the merits of evolution theory. Michael Behe garners much praise and vitriol for this new book which provides an in-depth study of the malaria virus with regard to natural selection acting on random mutations.
The Giraffe's Neck
The Amazing Physics of the Giraffe's Long Neck
Very few people are aware of the very special features found in the long neck of the giraffe. Still fewer can provide a coherent account for how it might have evolved by chance and necessity. To this day, not a single fossil showing gradual evolution of the giraffe has been found. Some Darwinists have suggested an interesting term known as "neck elongation macromutation." Sounds good so far right?
Here is a very detailed and well-written pdf paper by Dr. Wolf-Ekkehard Lönnig which you can download HERE Part 2 is HERE
Whale Evolution
Whale Evolution
Whale evolution is often cited by Darwinists such as Ken Miller as being an airtight case for macro evolution. Ambulocetis and a handful of similar cases are typically discussed, but no actual details are ever provided for how the transitions supposedly took place, or how the genetic information was obtained. It is also rarely revealed that scientists are not even in agreement as to what land mammal the whale actually came from in the first place.
Listen to David Berlinski as he walks us through some of the logical steps required for this massive transition to take place: LINK HERE

Baloney Takes Lots Of Forms
That's why you need to know when you are reading (or hearing) it. The good people at Creation-Evolution Headlines have produced a really nice page full of great examples from outright lies and falsehoods to the more nuanced "baloney" such as straw man arguments.
